Musings on a snowy day in June

It's not too often that on a June day in Wyoming includes witnessing a snowball fight outside your hotel room. This family was from Florida and it was the first time the daughter had ever seen snow. Here's mom and daughter having a snowball fight:

They were staying in the room next to ours. The daughter enjoyed the snow so much she just had to build this little snowman:

Another sight you don't expect to see in June - a snowplow clearing the roads:

We did expect to see some snow at the higher elevations, but not on the drive up to the park entrance. It really did make the mountains pretty, though:

Tomorrow isn't really looking too promising either. The weather forecast for Cody, WY includes near record lows tonight and some precipitation. We're not sure if that means more road closures tomorrow, but we've decided we will go somewhere tomorrow. It may mean that we circle around to the North or the South to access Yellowstone park that way. It would be a bunch of extra driving, but we really want to say that we made it into the park at least for a little while!

At least the girls are having a good time swimming in the pool at the hotel! We're going to get to bed on time tonight so we can get an early start tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have more success!
